1 | Who We Are

Epilepsy Network Australia Pty Ltd (“ENA”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is a specialist neurology service based in Melbourne. Details about our clinical team and ethos can be found on our About Us page.

ENA complies with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and relevant State health-records laws (e.g. Health Records Act 2001 (Vic)).

2 | What Information We Collect & Why

3 | How We Collect Information

– Directly from you (form, phone, email, clinic)
– From GPs, hospitals, other providers
– From Medicare, MHR, TAC/WorkCover, carers
– Via secure payment portals

4 | Payment Security & Card Storage

We use StripeLink or an equivalent PCI-DSS certified platform.

1. Card entry is via secure iFrame; ENA can't see your card.
2. Verification may use SMS or bank app (3-D Secure).
3. A secure token is stored; no card data is stored.
4. Deleting the card redacts the token irreversibly.

We share data only when necessary for care or required by law.
Overseas disclosure: We prefer Australian storage; offshore vendors must comply with APP 8.

6 | Data Security & Retention

– Records encrypted in transit/rest, backed up nightly.
– Physical notes secured.
– Retention: 7 years post-contact or until 25 for minors.

7 | Your Rights

You may request access, correction, transfer, token deletion, or withdraw consent (with exceptions). Admin fees may apply.

8 | Financial Consent

By ticking “I Agree”, you authorise ENA to:

1. Validate/store card via StripeLink (tokenised).
2. Charge your card for services as per fee schedule.
3. Charge no-show or cancellation fees.
4. Seek payment if third-party approval is missing.
*Pre-approval is required for TAC before 14 Feb 2018.*

9 | WorkCover / TAC Accounts

You must supply written insurer approval. Otherwise, you are liable for the account.

Cancellation policy: 

Please note appointments cancelled with less than 48 Hours notice (excluding weekends) will be charged a cancellation fee of $200 for NEW appointments and $100 for REVIEW appointments.

The consultation fees increase every year in line with the Australian Medical Association industry fee guidance, November of every year. Patients with financial difficulties should bring their circumstances to the attention of the staff or the doctor. Accounts referred to a collection agent or solicitor will have all legal costs and commission added to the amount due.
